Microfragmented Adipose Tissue (MFAT) Injection

Microfragmented Adipose Tissue (MFAT) along with Bone Marrow Aspirate Concentrate (BMAC) are among the most advanced FDA compliant regenerative technologies available in the United States. These involve non-surgical ultrasound guided injections. Adipose tissue (fat) contains many cells that are helpful in the healing process, including mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) and pericytes. These cells may help direct healing of degenerated tissue, and fat may additionally provide mechanical cushioning. The fat is easy to obtain with local anesthesia, and typically enough fat can be harvested to treat multiple sites. Unlike other tissues throughout the body, fat tissue maintains its supply of mesenchymal stem cells and pericytes as we age. This feature makes MFAT ideal as we age.
